Heringtons sponsors reunion Keane concert!

Together with English Heritage we are proud to support this special one-off reunion of Keane as a fundraiser to support the work of Battle Festival of Arts and Music.  This will be the first time in five years that all four Keane band members have played together.  Tim Rice-Oxley has been a patron of the Festival since 2014.  He grew up in Battle and former Keane with friends, singer Tom Chaplin and drummer Richard Hughes, later joined by bassist Jesse Quin.  The event on Saturday 11 August, 6.30pm, will be held at Battle Abbey.  Special guests to be announced.  For further details visit www.battlefestival.co.uk/events/2018/keane---a-very-special-acoustic-set-1

Heringtons welcomes two new Partners!

We are pleased to announce the continued growth of our firm with the elevation of our colleagues Liz Nevey and Robert Draper who joined our Partnership team this month.

Liz Nevey is the first Chartered Legal Executive to be promoted to Partner within the firm.  She is based in our Rye office in our Private Client department and specialises in estate administration, will drafting, powers of attorney, trusts, taxation and Court of Protection work.  Managing Partner, Richard Fisher said "I am delighted to welcome Liz as a partner.  As a modern forward-looking firm Heringtons seeks out the very best candidates for partnership whether they are solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives.  These days there are many routes to the highest levels of the profession.  We are proud of our record of training new lawyers locally and excited by the contribution they can make to our ever-growing firm"

Robert Draper is based in our Commercial Property hub in Eastbourne; he is a highly experienced property lawyer specialising in commercial property transactions including acquisitions and disposals, commercial landlord and tenant, commercial and residential development and funding and re-financing.  He honed his skills in the City where he acquired a broad range of experience and brings that expertise with him in delivering a local, personal and friendly service.  In his spare time Robert is a highly capable musician and has written large scale orchestral works which have been professionally performed.  April 3, 2018

Heringtons announces its Charity of the year!

Up against tough competition from some other very worthwhile local charities, Care for the Carers, a charity that supports unpaid carers across East Sussex, received the most staff votes from Heringtons in its Charity of the Year poll.

Richard Fisher, Managing Partner: "Everyone at Heringtons is excited to be working alongside Care for the Carers this coming year to show our support and to help highlight the wonderful work the charity does for all the communities in our branch towns."

Jennifer Twist, Chief Executive at Care for the Carers is equally delighted: "We are absolutely thrilled to be the Heringtons Charity of the Year, and look forward to working with its fantastic team over the coming months. Heringtons’ support will help us to raise funds to make a difference to local carers’ lives, and also to raise awareness of the massive contribution that carers make to communities across East Sussex," she says.

"With diminishing public funding for support to carers and the vulnerable people they support, it's especially important for high-profile, supportive local businesses to recognise unpaid carers in this way. And with Heringtons operating across East Sussex, from offices located in Battle, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Hastings, and Rye, we’re so pleased to have their support to reach even more of the 65,000 unpaid carers across the county.”

More announcements will be made soon about the partnership, along with news of any public fundraising events the team organises, for people across East Sussex to get involved and show their support for unpaid carers. Care for the Carerswww.cftc.org.uk  March 9, 2018
